(865) 350-7017Our story
For me, caring for Department of Labor clients is more than a profession—it is deeply personal.
My family’s connection to the atomic workforce began generations ago. My great-grandfather moved from Ohio to East Tennessee after accepting a career at K-25. Since then, three generations of my family have worked in the plants, contributing their time, skills, and health to the work that shaped our nation’s history.
For the past 17 years, I have had the privilege of caring for former plant workers and other DOL patients. Through this work, I have come to understand not only their medical needs, but also the sacrifices they and their families have made. These individuals deserve care that honors their service, protects their dignity, and allows them to remain safely and comfortably at home.
My connection to this work became even more meaningful when I had the honor of helping care for my maternal grandfather, Roger. For four years before he passed away, I was able to be by his side as both his granddaughter and caregiver. That experience taught me that quality home care is about much more than completing medical tasks. It is about listening, building trust, preserving independence, and making every moment together count.
Today, I have the same honor of helping care for my grandmother, who is also a DOL patient. Being part of her care during the later years of her life allows us to create memories, share special moments, and spend meaningful time together. I also have peace of mind knowing that she is receiving compassionate, dependable, and high-quality care.
Atomic Legacy Care was founded from these personal experiences. We were built on the belief that every client should be cared for with the same patience, compassion, respect, and attention we would want for our own family.
Our clients are part of an important legacy. It is our privilege to honor that legacy by caring for the people who helped build the Atomic Age—and by treating each person who welcomes us into their home like family.
